Zamfara state police Commissioner, Usman Nagoggo says a total of 2,300 security personnel would be deployed for the by-election in Bakura local government.
He said this shortly after a joint meeting with head of security agencies in the state on Wednesday.
He said security agencies were aware of political thugs in the area and warned them to stay away before, during and after the election in the area.
“Security agencies are up and doing to ensure that a free and fair by-election is conducted. At least, 2,300 security personnel would be deployed across the 104 poling units of Bakura constituency”.
The police commissioner who spoke n behalf of other security chiefs in the state, warned that all political parties would sign peace agreement before the election day for a peaceful by-election in the state.
He further warned political thugs to maintain peace, as security agencies would not condole any act capable of disrupting relative peace in the area and state at large.
He assured that security agencies would remain apolitical in the forthcoming December 5th by election in the state.
