Rotary Districts 9127 and 3204, along with the Rotary Foundation, have donated 70 school desks to Government Junior Secondary School Naraguta-Farin-Gada in Jos.
The donation was facilitated by the Rotary Club of Jos-Utan.
The past district governor of District 9127, Mike Ukachi, said at the presentation on Wednesday in Jos that the gesture was part of Rotary’s “Dust to Desk Project.”
Ukachi explained that the project aims to serve humanity, enhance learning, and create a conducive environment for students.
“In Rotary, we have thematic areas of focus, and basic literacy is one of them. We want to see students comfortable while studying,” he said.

He urged the school management to make the best use of the donated desks to support students’ learning and comfort, emphasizing that the desks were strictly for student use.
The school principal, Mr. Daniel Gonten, who received the desks on behalf of the school, commended Rotary for their continuous support in creating a conducive learning environment.
Gonten noted that the desks would boost classroom comfort and support effective learning for the pupils. “This gesture will enable students to sit comfortably while learning,” he said.
