A faith-based group, Becoming the Greatest You Christian Community (BGYCC), has donated food items and other materials to an orphanage, encouraging Nigerians to always lend a helping hand
Speaking during the outreach to the Heritage Home Orphanage, in Abuja,Pastor Alex Jonah, who led the BGYCC team on the visit, on Sunday,said the aim was to extend love and make positive impact.
Alex said, “We have been on virtual meetings, so we decided to come to the orphanage at least to show love to the less privileged. That is why we are here.
“As a group we have been able to do the little that we can in order to touch the lives of the less-privileged.
“We want to encourage everyone of us to do our best to touch the lives of the less privileged.
“It may not be too much, but at least the little they give would be enough to help at least,” he said.
Jonah called Nigerians to join BGYCC and learn ways of impacting their communities among others.
According to Ms Lilian Ilori, Leader, Mc Department, BGYCC,the visit was in response to Biblical injunction that whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.
She said, “When I heard that we are coming to an orphanage, it was overwhelming. I really liked it.
“The word of God said that those who give to the poor, they are lending to God. So I can literally say that we have just lended to God. So it is a good thing.”
Also speaking, Ms Michelle Ekuruorhore,BGYCC Supervisor for the Abuja’s virtual team, encouraged Nigerians to imbibe the culture of giving.
“You do not have to have too much before you reach out to people. 1000, 5000, whatever your hands can hold on, please assist the poor, assist the needy.
“These people do not have anybody reaching out to them. You might think, oh, civilians or people in the society are reaching out to them.
“You will be so surprised at how much help these people need. So as a government, please look into this,” he said.
Another member, Ms Joy Iseoluwa-Odunjo, one of the BGYCC Abuja Supervisors, said that the BGYCC Community teaches on how to show acts of love among other good deeds.
She said, “So it is a season of love plus as what we learn in the BGYCC community, we learn to show acts of love.
“So it is fulfilling one of what we are learning , you know, showing the love of God to others.”
Mr Sunny Otozi, Coordinator, BGYCC Abuja Builders, explained that BGYCC was founder by Mr Kaycee Sunshine with the aim of raising kingdom leaders to transform the nations and helping people become the best version of themselves.
“The accountability structure has helped us , we read every day unfailingly and we drop reports. That is the structure that he has put in place. It is an accountability system. Your life is transformed.
“You are not just a Christian that is spiritual. You are also a Christian that is also intellectually sound.That is how BGYCC has really transformed our lives and we are here to share that same love with the orphanage and also stretch a hand, ”he said.
Otozi called on every youth, every Nigerian to do the little they could to help in the society adding,“you don’t have to be at the apex or in government. You can start from your little place.
