As the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, continues to release results from local government areas, Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is currently leading in 15 local governments so far.
The governor so far has 80,207 votes difference against the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Of the results officially announced by the electoral umpire from the 15 local government areas, Ize-Iyamu has recorded 194,166 votes, while Obaseki has recorded 247,373 votes.
Results from the last three local governments are being awaited.
