Senator Aliyu Wamakko has mourned the deaths of 13 persons who died in a boat mishap in Doruwa village, Shagari local government of Sokoto state, describing it as shocking and saddening.
ASHENEWS earlier reported that the boat capsized killing 13 people, including eight women and five men Thursday evening.
Wamakko, in a statement by his spokesperson, Bashir Mani said he was shocked on receiving the news of the unfortunate tragedy.
He lamented that the mishap happened barely nine days after the death of over 100 persons in a similar tragedy in Kebbi state.
He prayed the Almighty Allah to grant the deceased persons eternal rest as well as give the bereaved families, people of Shagari local and Sokoto state governments the formidable fortitude to bear the losses.
Wamakko also prayed the Almighty Allah to prevent recurrence of such tragedies.
