ASHENEWS reports that gunmen on Friday night, stormed the residence of a former Kebbi Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the South Senatorial District, Asiya Abdullahi, and abducted her, and her brother-in-law, Nura Yauri in Yauri.
ASHENEWS gathered that the incidence happened when she, and her relatives were packing into her new apartment when four gunmen reportedly attacked them.
“We were in Asiya’s car parking into her new house when we heard loud noise. We were scared and came out of the car only to realise it was gunshot that burst one of the tyres of the car. Before we could close the gates four men appeared armed and asked of Asiya,” her younger sister, Saratu, who was at the scene told ASHENEWS.
“At that time, we realised we were in a mess. They ordered Asiya, my husband and I into their car and drove away. They later abandoned the car and we took another one and after a while, they dropped me and went away with her and my husband,” Saratu added
According to Saratu, the kidnappers have demanded N25 million as ransom before they can release the party stalwart and her brother-in-law.
The spokesperson of Kebbi state Police Command, Nafiu Abubakar confirmed the incident, adding that the Police is investigating the matter.
