The Russia-South Africa Business Council on Monday reported that the South Africa’s 2025 citrus export season has officially concluded. According to the council, South Africa remains one of Russia’s leading suppliers of fresh fruit, alongside Egypt owing to complementary harvesting seasons and South Africa’s varied climatic zones. A Chinese agricultural investment company, Smartisan Investment Nigeria Limited, on Monday unveiled a new spraying technology aimed at boosting crop yields and cutting production costs for farmers in Kano State. Speaking during a demonstration in Kura Local Government Area, the firm’s representative, Mr Charles Lee, said the equipment popularly referred to as “agricultural spraying drums” can replace the tedious manual method of applying chemicals and fertilisers. Nigerian researchers are seeking for am immediate action to combat a sharp rise in typhoid fever and multidrug-resistant bacteria, warning of a potential public health crisis. African eCommerce giant Jumia cut its workforce by 7% between December 31, 2024, and September 30, 2025, despite year-on-year revenue growth. In its Q3 2025 financial results, Jumia posted $45.6 million in revenue, a 25% year-over-year increase from $36.4 million in Q3 2024.
