Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu has expressed concerns over non-adherence to laws governing mining and quarrying activities in the state. Otu made the expression in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Linus Obogo in Calabar on Monday. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says Nigeria’s headline inflation rate eased to 15.06 per cent in February. The NBS disclosed this in its Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Inflation Report for February 2026, released in Abuja on Monday. According to the report, the February headline inflation showed a decrease of 0.04 per cent compared to the 15.10 per cent recorded in January.
