The Rafin Sarki community of Fatika district in Giwa local government area of Kaduna state on Friday, buried the 11 members of the community killed by gunmen. ASHENEWS reported earlier Friday morning that bandits attacked the village on Thursday. The Edo State Commissioner for Youths and Gender Issues, Andrew Emwanta on Friday, said 39 perpetrators of Gender-Based Violence were convicted in the state within three years. Emwanta disclosed this at a rally to mark this year’s International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, in Benin. The commissioner led a rally of Civil Society Organisations and Women groups to the Edo State Secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ). Osun state governor, Gboyega Oyetola has signed the 2023 N138 billion appropriation bill into law. A statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan on Friday, said that the governor signed the bill into law on Thursday night. The state House of Assembly on Wednesday passed the appropriation bill. The total recurrent expenditure of the budget is N99.2 billion, while the capital expenditure is N39 billion. Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri on Friday, presented a budget proposal of N175.019 billion, tagged tagged “Budget of Consolidation”, to the state House of Assembly for 2023 fiscal year. Fintiri said that the proposed fiscal policy was made up of Recurrent Expenditure of N105.011 billion, representing 60 per cent of the total budget.
