An explosion happened at a factory owned by the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON). The explosion was believed to come from gunpowder production. Two workers died, including a military officer, and four others were hurt on Saturday. The workers were on a weekend shift at the factory. The Sokoto State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has suspended six secondary school principals for misconduct. Some of them were accused of collecting fees illegally for Junior Secondary School exam results. The Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Auwal Jatau, has revealed that a fresh outbreak of cholera has killed 58 people across 14 of the 20 local government areas in the state.
