The management of the Kogi state Polytechnic, Lokoja, has expelled 27 students of the institution over examination malpractices. A statement by the spokesperson of the Polytechnic, Mrs Uredo Omale on Wednesday in Lokoja, said the expulsion was approved by the Academic Board of the institution. According to her, among the students expelled were Mohammed Iliasu Maikudi from Public Administration Department with Matric Number 2018/HND/PAD/769 and Kadiri Samson (2017/ND/OTM/034), from the Department of Office Technology and Management. The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Executive Director, Henrietta Fore, has expressed alarm at the spate of attacks against children and their abductions, including students, in Nigeria and parts of West and Central Africa. UN has projected that as many as 163 million additional people could be pushed into extreme poverty through 2021 because of COVID-19. World Health Organisation (WHO) says it has delivered nearly 96 million COVID-19  vaccine doses to 135 countries. The organisation also said it delivered other essential health products through COVAX.
