The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the death of four members of same family as a result of food poisoning. This is contained in a news release signed by Mr Babawale Afolabi, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NSCDC, Kwara Command. The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has engaged some commercial banks as agents to freeze and recover N1.8 trillion from accounts of Messrs MultiChoice Nigeria Limited (MCN) and MultiChoice Africa (MCA). The commissioner for Health in Plateau state, Dr Nimkong Lar has disclosed that Cholera outbreak has recorded 953 cases and 14 deaths. He also said that 910 patients had been discharged while 29 were receiving treatment in various health facilities across the state. The management of the Kogi state Polytechnic, Lokoja, has expelled 27 students of the institution over examination malpractices. A statement by the spokesperson of the Polytechnic, Mrs Uredo Omale on Wednesday in Lokoja, said the expulsion was approved by the Academic Board of the institution. The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Executive Director, Henrietta Fore, has expressed alarm at the spate of attacks against children and their abductions, including students, in Nigeria and parts of West and Central Africa.
