By Abujah Racheal Nigeria has reported 206 additional cases of COVID-19, with total infections being 169,884 as of July 20, 2021. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its official website handle on Wednesday morning. The new infections indicate an increase from the 146 cases announced a day earlier. It noted that there was no COVID-19 related death on Tuesday while the country’s total fatality stood at 2,128. Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, on Tuesday, pardoned 136 inmates as part of measures to decongest the correctional centres in the state. Lead counsel to Sunday Igboho, Yomi Alliyu (SAN), has alleged that his client is being tortured having been chained in a Cotonou police cell in Benin Republic. The media aide of the Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, Mr Olayomi Koiki has debunked media reports that his principal has been released by the government of Benin Republic. Media reports Tuesday evening indicated that Igboho and his wife, Ropo Adeyemo who were arrested in Cotonou Monday night, had been released and were on their way to Germany.
