Nigeria’s National Security Council has declared Zamfara as no-fly zone as well as banned mining activities in the state, the country’s Security Adviser, NSA, Babagana Monguno, has disclosed. He said the President also approved a ban on mining activities in Zamfara to stop the rising insecurity. Monguno disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after a meeting of the council at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday. President Muhammadu Buhari presided over a meeting of the National Security Council on Tuesday, few hours after the release of 279 school girls abducted in Jangebe, Zamfara. Gunmen abducted the girls from the Government Girls Junior Secondary School in Jangebe, in Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara last Friday, but they were released on Tuesday. The federal government of Nigeria has launched an e-registration portal for COVID-19 vaccination as the country expects to take delivery of 3.92 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine today (Tuesday). The National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, launched the e-registration platform on Monday, for electronic management of the vaccination. The portal captures data and schedules individuals for vaccination and contains functionalities to retrieve vaccination certificates by the use of an PreVac/ Vaccination Number.
