The Senate has approved N11 billion 2020 budget for Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPFT). This followed the consideration of the harmonised report of the Senate and House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs at Wednesday’s plenary. The implementation of the NPTF 2020 budget would lapse on April 30, 2021. Chairman of the senate committee on Police Affairs, Sen. The Federal Ministry of Power, on Wednesday, inaugurated 100KW solar hybrid mini-grid electricity in Adebayo Community, Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo. The Nigeria Police has said no fewer than 150 persons have been convicted of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and children abuse cases between 2019 and 2020. The Inspector General of Police (I-G), Mr Mohammed Adamu, stated this in Abuja at a high level multi agency consultative meeting on the implementation of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015. The Police Command in Delta on Wednesday confirmed an attack on a bullion van by suspected armed robbers. The police said that the attack occurred at  Ubulu-Okiti axis of Asaba-Benin express road, killing a police officer and two others. Niger state governor on Wednesday, signed two bills, “A law to provide for the Niger State Violence Against Persons (prohibition) Law and for other connected matters thereto” and “A Law to provide for Premarital Medical Examination in Niger State 2020” into law.
