Zamfara governor, Bello Muhammad has assured that the abducted students of Government Science Secondary School, Jangebe, would be released soon. Although the spokesperson of the Police Command, SP Muhammad Shehu could not confirm the release of the schoolgirls when ASHENEWS contacted him through telephone on Saturday, an official of government who chose to remain anonymous, confirmed that the girls had been rescued. “Yes, the schoolgirls have been released. The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development is considering disbursing N200 million to 100 artisanal miners to boost mining activities in Nigeria. The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mr Olamilekan Adegbite, made the disclosure in an interview on Sunday in Abuja. He said that the fund would be drawn from the ministry’s N3.2 billion mining intervention fund, domiciled with the Bank of Industry (BoI).
