The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has shortlisted 6,105 candidates out of the 45,323 who applied to be enlisted in its 2019/2020 recruitment. Mr James Sunday, spokesman of the Service, stated on Monday in Abuja that further screening of those shortlisted would begin on May 24, 2021 at no cost to the applicants. Applicants would be invited for the exercise through their email addresses and via Short Message Services, he stated. The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) says that mock examination slips for its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now be printed out in preparation for the exercise. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, says over 2,000 hectares of land with titled documents have been given out by 24 states for Federal Government’s Social Housing programme. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has commended the National Assembly (NASS) for proposing a law for the constitutional amendment of 111 special additional seats for women in the two chambers of the NASS. Federal University of Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has suspended its Bursar, Mrs Bolatito Akande, over alleged misconduct. Special Adviser on Media Matters to the Vice-Chancellor, Mr Wole Balogun, confirmed the suspension in a statement issued on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti.
