Borno state government and stakeholders including security agencies on Sunday deliberated on ongoing surrendering by insurgents in the state. Speaking at the meeting in Maiduguri, Governor Babagana Zulum said the forum was to reach a common ground by the people of Borno on how to handle the situation for lasting peace in the state. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says it will resolve in six months all contract issues delaying the installation of 18Left Runway Lighting at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) says Nigeria accounts for 24,000 missing people, the largest missing caseload on the continent representing over half of those registered as missing in Africa. The people of Ugbo in Ilaje council area of Ondo State on Sunday called on the state government to urgently intervene to check sea incursion ravaging the coastal community. They lamented that many residents had been displaced and property destroyed as a result of the sea incursion in the community. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has recovered N53 billion from a real estate developer for the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a drug kingpin, Mr Ibeh Ejike, at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, (NAIA) Abuja with ingested 87 wraps of cocaine. The NDLEA spokesperson, Mr Femi Babafemi said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja. Bose Omolayo’s best lift of 141 kg on Sunday was good enough to win gold medal for Nigeria in the women’s power lifting -79kg in the ongoing 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo. Omolayo recorded the best lift of 141 kg to take the first position in her category.
