The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Tuesday adopted minimum cut-off marks for admission into tertiary institutions for the 2021/2022 academic session. The Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who announced this in Abuja on Tuesday, said that universities are not allowed to go below 120 and Polytechnics and colleges of education, not below 100 marks for admission. The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has directed all banks in the country to publish the names and Bank Verification Number (BVN) of defaulters of the new forex policy. Katsina state governor, Aminu Masari has signed the state Security Challenge Containment Order, in which the government adopted 12 measures to contain banditry in the state. MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has clarified an alleged indebtedness to the federal government of Nigeria in respect to outstanding taxes. Its company secretary, Mrs Uto Ukpana, made the clarification in a notice posted on the website of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited on Tuesday. Ukpana recalled that on Jan. 8, 2020, the office of the Attorney General of the Federation had transferred the case of MTN Nigeria’s alleged indebtedness to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Nigerian Customs Service for resolution. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) says the federal government’s  plans to increase the nation’s oil and gas reserves, are on course and being boosted by strategic policies and programmes. Mr Paul Osu, Head, Public Affairs, DPR, made this known in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos. Osu said the national aspiration of Nigeria was to increase its reserves from 36.91 billion barrels to 50 billion barrels, in the short to midterm.
