The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Thursday commenced a two-day public sensitasation on its newly launched digital currency, also known as eNaira and other initiatives in Abia. The CBN Director, Corporate Communications, Osita Nwanisobi said the sensitation fair was to engage the public and enlighten them on the eNaira and other monetary polices of the apex bank. The programme which was jointly held virtually in Abia and Ebonyi, had participants across different sectors of the economy. Eight of the 24 members of Plateau state House of Assembly have impeached the Speaker, Abok Ayuba. The members in the unusual sitting on Thursday morning and presided by the Deputy Speaker, Saleh Yipmong also elected Yakubu Sanda (APC-Pengana) as the new speaker. The eight members gained access to the House as early as 6 a.m to execute their plan. They operated under the heavy presence of armed security personnel. The federal government has called on developed countries to redeem their $100 billion pledge, made to support developing countries on climate action. The. Minister of State, Environment, Chief Sharon Ikeazor, made the call on Wednesday,  in Abuja, at a news briefing on COP26 preparation, scheduled for October 31 to November 12, in Glasgow. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the reconstruction of 21 roads covering a total distance of 1,804.6 kilometres across the six geo-political zones. These projects are to be undertaken by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) through the deployment of its own tax liabilities. A High-Level meeting of the OPEC-GECF Energy Dialogue has underscored the importance of crude oil and natural gas to the global economy and in meeting current and future energy demands.
