Usman Ciromari, Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) in Yobe said in Damaturu, that the exercise was designed to destroy quelea bird nesting colonies in Yobe and other parts of the region. The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group approved financing of $150 million to Kenya to support a major highway development project under the government’s First Mover Public-Private Partnership (PPP) programme.The project will see the development of the A8 and A8 South highways. Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni said on Monday in Damaturu that floods, resulting from many days of torrential rains, have submerged nine communities and cut off Gulani local government area from other parts of the state.
