The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (UNFAO) has reported that world food prices have fallen for a fifth consecutive month but are still nearly eight per cent higher than a year ago. FAO, in its latest Food Price Index published on Friday, showed that the prices of five commodities – cereals, vegetable oil, dairy, meat and sugar – were lower in August than in July. The Index tracks the monthly international prices of these breadbasket staples. The Aliko Dangote Foundation Integrated Nutrition (ADFIN) Project has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU with Kano State government to check the prevalence of malnutrition in the state.
