The Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court has sentenced an Iranian protester, Mahan Sedarat to death. ASHENEWS reports that the Iranian court issued a death sentence against Sedarat, a man arrested during the nationwide protests sparked by the September death of a 22-year-old woman in the custody of morality police. A judiciary source told IranWire that the sentence was handed by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court and will be communicated to Sedarat’s lawyer in the coming days. Uganda’s Minister of Education Janet Kataha Museveni, said on Tuesday that government would shorten the school term by two weeks to reduce daily contact amongst students and help curb the spread of Ebola. Zimbabwe state-run Herald newspaper on Tuesday reported that Zimbabwe first satellite, ZimSat-1, has been successfully launched into space. ZimSat-1, a nanosatellite was launched to the International Space Station (ISS) on Monday. Malawi on Tuesday received a consignment of 2.9 million doses of Oral Cholera Vaccine (OCV) for a single dose reactive campaign to the Cholera outbreak. The recent outbreak has killed over 200 people since the country reported the first case in March. The World Bank on Tuesday announced a new multi-partner fund that will pool funding from the global community for projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This is contained in a statement obtained from the World Bank website on Tuesday in Abuja.
