The Court of Appeal in Sokoto on Wednesday affirmed the ruling of the High Court in Zamfara nullifying the candidature of Dr Dauda Lawal as the flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 general elections. The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Tuesday, increased the country’s Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) by 100 basis points to 16.5 per cent from 15.5 per cent. Announcing the committee’s decision at the end of its two-day meeting on Tuesday, the CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, said the MPC also decided to hold all other parameters constant.
