World Health Organization (WHO) said a new malaria vaccine RTS,S would be distributed more widely from 2023 protecting millions of children in the countries where the disease is most prevalent. Abdisalan Noor of the WHO Malaria Programme on Thursday said more than 20 countries plan to use RTS,S and some would start using it by end of 2023. He said some governments would get access to the jab with the help of the international vaccination alliance Gavi. ASHENEWS reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced a new policy for over-the-counter withdrawals from banks and other financial institutions by individuals and corporate organizations. A circular from the apex bank issued on Tuesday puts January 9, 2023 as the effective date for the takeoff of the policy nationwide. According to CBN, while individuals would only be able to withdraw N100,000, corporate organisations will only be allowed to withdraw N500,000 over the counter per week.
