A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, set aside its order committing the Inspector-General (IGP) of Police, Usman Baba to three-month imprisonment for contempt. Justice Bolaji Olajuwon, in a ruling, said that there was evidence before the court that the IGP had substantially complied with the court’s earlier order directing the reinstatement of Patrick Okoli, who was compulsorily retired as a police officer. Some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPS) from different locations in Kaduna state on Wednesday cried out for help over lack of shelter, hunger, and loss of means of livelihood. The displaced persons are camped in an IDP centre in Kaduna. They said in separate interviews that they were forced out of their homes in 2020 due to exacerbating kidnappings and banditry activities in the state.
