God Is Good Motors (GIGM) says it has expanded its operations with the launch of two technology-driven platforms designed to connect vehicle hire, air travel and tourism services.
HireX and PASS by GIGM were unveiled in Abuja on Wednesday as part of the company’s strategy to build a broader mobility ecosystem integrating transport and lifestyle services.
Speaking at the launch, GIGM Chief Executive Officer Dr Enahoro Okhae said the initiative reflected the company’s decision to adapt to changing customer expectations and new opportunities in the mobility sector.
Okhae said the company, traditionally known for interstate passenger transport, was expanding its services to give customers more convenient ways to travel and access mobility solutions.
He said the new platforms would complement existing services, which allow customers to book road trips, select pick-up locations and access transport services through the company’s app.
According to him, PASS by GIGM will enable customers to book air travel, arrange holidays and access tour services.
He said HireX would provide vehicles for people needing transport within cities for meetings, weddings, airport transfers and other engagements.
“Today, we are not just moving people from one state to another. We are creating an ecosystem where travel and lifestyle services can come together,” he said.
Okhae said the company’s expansion was driven by the changing mobility needs of Nigerians travelling for business, education, tourism, family events and other opportunities.
He said the company’s long-term vision was to build an African mobility brand capable of competing globally through innovation, technology and improved service delivery.
The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, Mr Joseph Osanipi, described the platforms as an innovation that could simplify travel by bringing different mobility-related services together.
Osanipi said technology-driven solutions should address practical challenges faced by travellers, including transport arrangements, accommodation, airport transfers and navigation in unfamiliar destinations.
However, he identified trust, reliability and efficient service delivery as essential to the successful adoption of digital mobility platforms.
Customers, he said, must be confident that their personal information and transactions are secure and that services offered through digital platforms will be delivered as promised.
He urged the company not to become complacent after the launch, stressing that meeting customers’ growing expectations would be the real test of the innovation.
GIGM’s Head of Product, Mr Charles Oloyede, said technology remained central to the company’s operations and expansion into other mobility sectors.
Oloyede said the company’s digital infrastructure helped coordinate complex operations involving about 150 daily touchpoints, while improving service delivery and customer experience.
He said the technology developed for road transport had created an opportunity to extend the company’s services to air travel and other mobility-related sectors.
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Mr Olufunso Adebiyi, represented by the Deputy Director of Road and Mass Transit, Mr Usman Abubakar, commended the company’s investment in innovation.
Adebiyi said he had followed GIGM’s growth for about 20 years and supported its efforts to introduce new transport solutions.
He described the launch of HireX as a welcome development, adding that the ministry remained open to partnerships with private-sector operators to improve transport services in the country.
He urged the company to sustain its innovation drive and ensure the new services contributed meaningfully to Nigeria’s transport sector.
