ASHENEWS reports that the officials of the Jarma Peace and Stability in Sokoto state, have vowed to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in spite rumours that its patron, Ummarun Kwabo AA is planning to dump the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This online platform further reports that their resolve is contained in a statement read by the chairman of the forum of local government chairmen, Jafar Abubakar Dan Nayaba at a press briefing on Friday.
According to the group, Ummarun Kwabo’s planned defection to the APC has remained a rumour because he has never approached them on the issue.
The group added that even if the rumour became true, members had resolved to remain in the PDP.
“As officials of Jarma Peace and Stability, there are rumours about Alhaji Ummarun Kwabo (Jarman Sokoto) planning to leave the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.
“However, in the event that it is true that he is planning to defect to the APC, we hereby categorically state our resolve to remain in the PDP,” the statement reads in parts.

As the name implies, Jarma Peace and Stability is an organisation that functioned prominently during the administation of Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa.
It however went into oblivion thereafter and no member or officials of the organization have been contacted for anything.
As officials of Jarma Peace and Stability, there are rumours about Alhaji Ummarun Kwabo (Jarman Sokoto) planning to leave the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.
For us as officials, this is rumour because Alhaji Ummarun Kwabo has never intimated us about this rumoured plan.
However, in the event that it is true that he is planning to defect to the APC, we hereby categorically state our resolve to remain in the PDP.
Our decision is informed by the achievements so far recorded by the administration of Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
We are not perturbed by the move and have chosen to remain strongly behind the leadership of the PDP.
We also assure that we give our all to ensure the victory of the party at the ward, local, state and presidential elections in 2023.
