El-Rufai: Kaduna Gov’s revelation vindicates me – Shehu Sani

Former Senator representing Kaduna North Central Senatorial Zone, Shehu Sani has said that the recent revelation by Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani on the alleged loans taken by former governor, Nasiru El-Rufai had vindicated him.

Shehu Sani made the remark recently while addressing newsmen at the Aminu Kano Centre For Democratic Studies in Kano after an event.

Sani said he did all things possible to stop El-Rufai from placing the state in undue indebtedness but was tagged as anti-development.

According to him, El-Rufai had insulted and cursed him publicly to the extent that he told him time would reveal who truly loves the people of Kaduna State.

“What more would I tell them? I have said all I needed to say. While in office I warned the Kaduna State government against taking loans and even blocked access to such loans.

“Former Governor Nasiru Elrufai fought me on this; insulted me because of this and even cursed me. I told him then that time will reveal who truly loves the people of Kaduna between myself and him.

“Today he is no more in power and those he put in place are now condemning his funds misappropriation as well as the loans they secured.

“Today, I thank and praise the Almighty God for clearing and availing me,” Shehu Sani stated while responding to questions from newsmen in Hausa.

The former Senator has called for an independent probe of El-Rufai administration as well as the contractors in order to reveal the truth about the misappropriation of funds by the El-Rufai-led administration.

It would be recalled that the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani recently complained of his inability to pay workers’ salaries due to the debt burden of $350 million secured by his predecessor, Nasiru Elrufai.

The Kaduna State House of Assembly has since initiated a probe into the funds misappropriation by the El-Rufai administration.
