ASHENEWS reports that the Kaduna State Ministry of Health has embarked on integrated mobile community outreaches in hard-to-reach communities and urban slums across the state.
The Commissioner of Health, Umma Ahmad, in a telephone interview with our reporter on Friday, said the outreach “is being conducted with the use of five state-of-the art Mobile Diagnostic Truck.”
According to her, “the aim of this is to ensure that all communities across the state enjoy the state government’s healthcare services, irrespective of their location. We do this three times a week to ensure quick coverage.”
She gave the areas in which the outreaches are being conducted as follows:
- Diagnostic investigations for Tuberculosis, HIV, Malaria, Hepatitis B and C.
- Digital X-ray services with artificial intelligence.
- All childhood preventable Immunization services.
- Nutrition services.
- Antenatal care services.
- Counselling on maternal, infant and young child feeding.
- Vitamin A supplementation.
- Family planning services.
- Other maternal health services.
- Eye care services.
- Treatment and referrals for Malaria, TB, HIV and other diagnosed diseases.
- Health education and community sensitization.
