Prof. Adesina Sodiya, President, Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has urged the incoming administration of Sen. Bola Tinubu to continue with the census process.
Sodiya said this during a news conference in Abuja on Friday.
He emphasized the importance of census in national planning and development, saying “ensus is very important for national planning and development.
“We need it for education, agriculture and give accurate demographic information about us.”
Sodiya who expressed the commitment of the society to a credible digital census, commended National Population Commission (NPC) for its digital preparation towards the census.
Sodiya said the group had proposed what he described as IT Cadre to government for aimed at enhancing digital policy of government.
According to him, any person or group that carries out activities digitally will always get the support of the group.
The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has been championing IT development for four decades now.
