Dr. Jibril Tafida, a close associate of Senator Godswill Akpabio, has told the spokesperson of PDP campaign in the 2023 presidential elections, Daniel Bwala, that he does not have the capacity to comment on Akpabio’s camp.
A statement is credited to Bwala to the effect that Senator Akpabio would unlikely emerge as the new Senate President because he is surrounded by lawmakers that are working against his ambition.
According to Taida, “he lacks what it takes to comment on what goes on in the Camp of Akpabio.”
Tafida who stated this while answering questions from newsmen in Kaduna, after attending the book launch by Governor Nasir El-rufai, noted that “Bwala’s analysis of Akpabio’s chances was pedestrian because does not understand the former Niger Delta Minister’s political masterstroke and knows nothing about on goings in the Stability Group leading the campaign for his emergence.”
He stressed that all the Senators elect, who have openly shown loyalty to Akpabio’s bid have been doing so, long before the battle for the number three seat became a media buzz.
“Let me give you one example. For instance, the no-nonsense Senator Ali Ndume is solidly behind Akpabio’s Senate presidency bid from day one. So are all the other lawmakers . Bwala got it all twisted becausehe is claiming to be more catholic than the Pope,”Tafida declared
Speaking further, Tafida said, “Bwala should not forget that Senator Akpabio is still the leading contestant for the Senate Presidency, both at the party level and in the court of public opinion. Akpabio is unstoppable”.
