The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasir Idris as winner of the Kebbi state governorship election.
The Returning Officer, Professor Saidu Yusuf said Idris scored 409,225 votes to defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), retired General Aminu Bande, who polled 360,940 votes.
Accepting his victory, the governor-elect promised to run an all-inclusive government as well as build on the existing achievements of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
“Let me use this opportunity to thank our teeming supporters who turned out en mass to vote APC into office to continue enjoying dividends of democracy.
“To those who we contested with from other parties, you should know that we have no other state than Kebbi. You should therefore join hands with us to move the state forward,” he said.
