ASHENEWS reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the scheduled March 11, 2023 governorship and House of Assembly elections.
A credible source in the commission, who is not authorised to speak to journalists, told ASHENEWS that the emergency meeting was sequel to the reconfiguration and transportation of the Biomodal Verification Accreditation System (BVAS).

“It’s true. We are just closing from office now. The elections will be postponed to allow more time for preparations,” the source said.
Asked what the new date is, he said “that will be made known officially, please.”
ASHENEWS reported earlier today that the court granted INEC leave to reconfigure the BVAS machines in preparation for the forthcoming governorship and state assembly elections.
