Nana Konadu: Ruined Life Between Pa Rawlings and Nathalie – A Ghanaian Story

First, Mrs. Yamb has continued to observe Ghanaian news very closely. In one of her tweets, she even criticized the actions of our current president. She approached some politician; approached some of our political and media leaders to promote her vision of pan-Africanism. What do you care?

By Rachael Fall

I read an INCREDIBLE article written in the French language on a Sierra Leone-based blog https://regardelinfo.com/2022/12/01/mama-ghana/ about Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings whose life was ruined by the love affair between Papa Jerry Rawlings and one Nathalie Yamb.

Under the guise of secrecy and because the memory of Jerry Rawlings cannot be desecrated, we are obscuring a part of our national Papa Jerry who will remain an icon and symbol of Ghana’s renewal for eternity.

If I didn’t learn much from this article, I mostly re-discovered that Jerry Rawlings had a second life with another woman, called Nathalie Yamb. I remember the scandal at the time of his death but the emotion at the time was still too great and I confess that I didn’t really care if he had a mistress or two or more.

I also admit that I had the image of a strong and omnipresent Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings in the affairs of state.

I had not imagined the suffering of this woman, wounded in her love and betrayed by the man she loves. I especially made the connection between Hillary Clinton’s fate and hers.

I did some research to confirm the relationship between Nathalie Yamb and Jerry Rawlings. I was shocked by the number of pictures posted on social media. In fact, the story between the two was far from being a booty-call.

I did a basic Google search and…

…the result was impressive as you can see above. Maybe we had another First Lady in Ghana or elsewhere. However far or close she was talks much more in the affairs of our country?

Especially, the two would have had a son together. Again, I doubt and wonder until I talked about it to a journalist friend close to Jerry Rawlings, who confirmed the information. Another shock. At that moment, I wonder if the last part of the article is true or false.

According to the article, a secret agreement had been made between Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings. Nathalie Yamb would have accepted money in exchange for her silence about the hidden son.

I talked about that with another journalist and he told me two incredible information I would like to share.

First, Mrs. Yamb has continued to observe Ghanaian news very closely. In one of her tweets, she even criticized the actions of our current president. She approached some politician; approached some of our political and media leaders to promote her vision of pan-Africanism. What do you care?

Secondly, she will receive an award in Cameroon for her role as a pan Africanist influencer by an obscure mystic organization sponsored by a foreign state (my contact didn’t tell me which state).

Nana Konadu-Agyeman Rawlings has done much more for Africa than this woman who does not even assume her role as a side-chick.

Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings wrote an autobiography that ends in the 1980s. I am now eager to discover the continuation of her story and to question the history of Ghana through her eyes.
