The Pan African Agricultural Journalists, PAAJ, a continental association, has congratulated Dr. Akinwumi Adesina on his re-election as President of the African Development Bank, AfDB.
A statement by the President, Mr. Stanley Ihedigbo, made available to journalists across the continent on Friday, described the re-election of Dr. Adesina as a clear testimony of his hard work and commitment in motivating a bold reform agenda for the Bank.
“The re-election of former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, will no doubt accelerate the development of Africa’s agricultural value chain and food security.
“The Africa Agriculture Journalists are desirous of partnering with the leadership of Dr. Adesina in AfDB in order to utilize its vast potentials as agric information experts.
“President of AfDB during his first term in office, distinguished himself as a good Ambassador of Nigeria in particular and Africa as a whole.
“We wish him God’s guidance in the discharge of this important task of African rennaisance,” the statement reads.
Recall that Dr. Adesina was re-elected on Thursday during the bank’s 55th Annual Meetings, as President of the Bank for the second term.
