The Registrar of National Examination Council, NECO, Prof. Godswill Obioma has lauded the existing partnership between the Council and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
Obioma said this when he visited the Commandant General of the Corps, Abdullahi Muhammadu on Thursday.
According to him, the visit had further strengthened the ties between the two organisations, especially in providing security for the candidates and the officials of NECO during examination period.
The Registrar said he was at the NSCDC headquarters “to foster a robust relationship with the NSCDC and to familiarize with the Corps in order to promote existing synergy between the two organisations and how best the Personnel can discharge their mandate during field operations.
“The visit is to deepen partnership with the Corps watching over the NECO exams centres across the nation. We want the Corps to provide administrative and operational protection for officers of NECO on field work,” Obioma said.
Responding, the NSCDC CG, enlightened the Registrar on the Corps mandate of the protection of critical infrastructure and national assets in Nigeria, Disaster Management, “which can be as a result of natural disaster or man-made by carrying out Rescue, Operation, Rehabilitation and Mitigation,” among other things.
