The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai delivered a decisive blow to Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants in Malam Fatori, a strategic town in northeastern state of Borno Nigeria, through a series of precision airstrikes on December 15, 2024. The operation successfully neutralized dozens of terrorists and destroyed critical assets.
According to intelligence sources, a large gathering of ISWAP fighters had been detected in the area. Surveillance missions revealed a concentration of vehicles and motorcycles, reportedly used for militant movement and logistical operations. Acting on this intelligence, the military launched a meticulously coordinated air campaign to dismantle the threat.
Advanced reconnaissance and targeting technologies guided the deployment of aircraft, which struck with surgical precision. Eyewitnesses in the area described deafening explosions and towering plumes of smoke as the strikes obliterated vehicles, motorcycles, and other equipment critical to the militants’ operations.
Sources confirmed that the strikes resulted in significant casualties among ISWAP fighters, with initial estimates suggesting the death toll could reach dozens.
The air operation was part of a broader strategy under Operation Hadin Kai, aimed at restoring security in the region. Ground forces, working in synergy with the air campaign, continue to engage ISWAP elements, with air superiority playing a pivotal role in turning the tide against the insurgents.
This successful operation highlights the military’s ongoing commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring the safety of communities in northeastern Nigeria.
