ASHENEWS reports that the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCN) on Wednesday inducted 202 new members into its fold.

The health scientists who were recent graduates from the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete had their induction ceremony held for them in Malete, Kwara State.
The acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh underscored the importance of upholding professionalism in safeguarding and promoting environmental health.
He said that the health professionals are often unheralded champions who diligently ensure environmental safety.
According to the Vice Chancellor, this group of health professionals plays a critical role in light of pressing global challenges like climate change.
He added that these professionals work towards devising innovative solutions, fostering sustainable development, and shielding vulnerable communities from environmental hazards.
He commended KWASU for its commitment to producing graduates equipped to lead advocacy efforts, educate communities, and spearhead environmental initiatives.
Jimoh then called on the new members to ensure they stick to the ethics of the profession and be ambassadors of the university and the Council to which they now belong.
Environmental health is the branch of public health concerned with all aspects of the natural and built environment affecting human health.
In order to effectively control factors that may affect health, the requirements that must be met in order to create a healthy environment must be determined
