The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV ) has applauded the EU and World Bank for endorsing Nigeria’s 3MTT initiative to train 3 million youth in digital skills by 2027, calling it a game-changer for tech talent development and youth empowerment.

In a statement released on Friday and signed by its Chairman, Mr. Chukwudi Enekwechi, TMV said the initiative reflects President Bola Tinubu’s visionary approach to human capital development and global competitiveness.

“Like the EU and World Bank, we at the Tinubu Media Volunteers believe the 3MTT programme—whose aim is to train three million young Nigerians in core technical skills by 2027—is both innovative and commendable,” the group stated.

TMV said the programme is designed to build a strong digital workforce that will not only drive Nigeria’s economic growth but also position the country as a major exporter of skilled talent in the global tech space.

“If Mr. President’s vision is fully implemented, Nigeria can emerge as one of the world’s top talent accelerators—similar to India and South Africa,” the group noted.

The organisation also commended Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, for taking concrete steps to implement the President’s vision, particularly in the creation of one million technical jobs under the initiative’s first phase.

“This is a strategic move by the Tinubu administration to equip Nigerian youths with relevant digital skills and connect them with job opportunities both locally and globally,” TMV said.

TMV further welcomed the Federal Government’s decision to make all science and technical colleges tuition-free, stating that it will significantly support the success of the 3MTT initiative by making technical education more accessible.

“We believe this will help transform Nigeria into a hub of digital talent, especially as graduates of these institutions will be equipped with practical, in-demand skills,” the statement added.

The group urged Nigerian youths to take full advantage of the opportunity presented by the programme to improve their technical capabilities and secure a stake in the digital economy.

“Digital skills are the future. The 3MTT programme is a golden opportunity for our young people to prepare for that future—and thrive in it,” the statement concluded.
