Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has unveiled a centralised digital advertising management platform for the Delta State Signage and Advertisement Agency (DESSAA).
The governor said the platform would enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the management of outdoor advertising across the state.
Oborevwori, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, performed the unveiling on Thursday in Asaba.
He said the digital platform was designed to deploy technology in advancing transparency and operational excellence in the administration of advertisements and signage in the state.
The governor warned that the state government would not tolerate fraudulent or unethical practices, adding that DESSAA remains a strategic agency for boosting the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
He urged all stakeholders to fulfil their obligations by making prompt and accurate payments.
Oborevwori said his administration would continue to collaborate with local government council chairmen to achieve greater efficiency and improved revenue generation.
The Managing Director of DESSAA, Mr Sebastien Okoh, said the platform would provide a seamless and convenient system for advertisers, practitioners, and other stakeholders to access the agency’s services electronically from anywhere in the world.
According to Okoh, the cashless system will eliminate opportunities for financial leakages and unethical practices while ensuring that all legitimate revenues are properly accounted for.
Other speakers at the ceremony commended the governor for the initiative, describing it as a bold step that would redefine the operations of the State Signage and Advertisement Agency and strengthen revenue administration in the state.
