ASHENEWS reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ruled out automatic ticket for Ondo state governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa ahead of the November 16, 2024 governorship poll in the state.
Former deputy governor, Aiyedatiwa succeeded his former boss, Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed on last month.
He is believed to be eyeing the governorship ticket of the party, among eight other aspirants, who are warming up for the primary.
The spokesperson of the party in the state, Felix Morka, disclosed this on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.
While emphasizing that there will be no preferential treatment in the state in 2024, Morka described the APC as a democratic platform in which any aspirant yearning for nomination should earn it.
Others yearning for the governorship seat include Secretary to Government, Princess Oladunni Odu; Finance Commissioner, Wale Akinterinwa; Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, Ife Oyedele, and Isaacs Kekemeke.
