…Increases students loan to N10bn
The House of Representatives has rejected the N4.79 billion budgetary allocation contained in the N2.176 trillion 2023 supplementary budget for the 2023 for the purchase of presidential yacht.
The Reps, while passing the supplementary budget, also moved the sum proposed for the yacht to student loan, bringing the total sum for the scheme to N10 billion up from the initial N5.5 billion.
ASHENEWS recalls that the supplementary budget, which was presented to NASS by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, was passed approved on Thursday.
The chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi, stated this while addressing journalists on Thursday.
He further stated that the Committee increased the budgetary allocation of the Ministry of Defense from the initial allocation of N476bn to N546bn.
According to him, the four months wage award of N210 billion for workers was considered and approved for onward transmission to the President for implementation,
He pledged adequate legislative oversight to ensure 100 percent implementation.
The sum of 100 billion was retained for the Federal Capital Territory as requested.
