The Jigawa Government on Thursday approved N22 billion for the rehabilitation and construction of new road projects across the state.
The state Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports and Culture,Bala Ibrahim stated this at the end of the weekly State Executive Council (SEC) meeting chaired by Gov. Muhammad Badaru, at the Government House, Dutse.
He said the SEC approved N7.1 for the construction of the 30.5km Sule Tankarkar – Amanga – Maitsamiya – Tsugudidi – Santabari – Garin Aiko road with a completion period of 12 months.
The Commissioner said the Council also approved the construction of the 28.9km Shuwarin – Wurno – Chamo – Abaya – Isari road at the cost of N6.69 billion.
The Council, he said, equally approved N8.1 billion for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the 37km Yanllema – Kaugama – Kwanar Madana road.
“Also approved are roads damaged as a result of a flood in the last raining season which include Birnin Kudu – Kiyawa; Kiyawa -Jahun, Gambara – Waza, Baranda – Madobi, Darai – Gilima, Jahun – Gujungu, Gujungu – Hadejia, Auyo – Kafin Hausa, Hantsu – Miga and Kwalam – Gilima – Kiri – Majiya,” he said.
