The BUA Foundation on Monday donated three ambulances and 50,000 facemasks to Bauchi government to fight COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The Director, Government Relation of the foundation, Dr Aliyu Hong made the announcement while presenting the ambulances and facemasks to governor Bala Mohammmed in Bauchi.

He said that a new trend of the COVID 19 pandemic is surfacing again in some countries of Europe, America, Nigeria amongst others.

“The donation of the ambulances and facemasks is to support the state government in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic

“Government has done remarkably well in containing the spread of the disease as well as executing laudable projects in the state.

“We want you to continue taking proactive steps that will contain the spread of the pandemic; that is why BUA Foundation is giving this support to the state.

“So far, the Foundation has donated about N8 billion to state governments and other institutions of government to support the fight against COVID-19 in the area of food supply, provision of materials and infrastructure.

“This is an extension of what the foundation is doing and it will continue to support state governments and institutions to stamp out COVID-19 in Nigeria because without a healthy population, there will be no healthy government and economy”, he said.

Responding, governor Mohammed commended the foundation for the gesture, saying the state needs the facilities as it is better late than never.

He added that the donation of the three ambulances and 50,0000 facemasks is to show that the pandemic is not yet over, adding that the state government is ready to partner with BUA foundation.
