Sultan congratulates Sokoto governor-elect

ASHENEWS reports that Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has felicitated with Sokoto governor-elect, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto on his landslide victory during the just-concluded governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

A high-powered delegation, led by the Waziri of Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, represented the Sultan at the Gawon Nama residence of the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko on Monday.

He congratulated the governor-elect, and described the election in Sokoto as one of the most peaceful in the country, which was conducted violence-free.

The Sultan further reiterated the Sultanate Council’s full commitment to work assiduously with the governor-elect for the development of the state as a whole.

The monarch explained that, the election of Aliyu Sokoto is a will of God Almighty, who gives power to whom He wishes at the  period He wishes, saying the election was widely accepted in the state.

He prayed God to help and protect the Governor to be able to steer the helm of affairs of Sokoto state for the well- being of all citizens.

Responding, the governor-elect described the Sultan as a father to all.

Aliyu Sokoto recalled that when they visited  the Palace during the electioneering, the Sultan told them that the Sultanate Council is for all, therefore no one can be sidelined if he comes for a fatherly advice.

The Governor-elect explained that Sultan’s high-powered delegation to rejoice with him over his victory, has confirmed his role as a father.

He promised to carry everybody along for the actualization of his 9-Point Agenda, which if implemented will bring very positive changes to the state.

The delegation comprised the Wazirin Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu; Magajin Rafin Sokoto, . Rilwanu Bello; Galadiman Garin Sokoto, Aliyu Attahiru Galadanci; Sarkin Kabin Yabo, Muhammadu Mai Turare, and Sa’in Kilgori, Dr. Muhammadu Jabbi Kilgori as well as the Secretary to the Sultanate Council, also Danburan Sokoto, Sa’idu Maccido.

They were all received by the APC leader in the State, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko at his Gawon Nama residence, sokoto alongside, Senate Leader, Sen. Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, DG NTI, Prof. Musa Garba Mai Tafsir, some newly-elected members of the Sokoto State Assembly, among numerous other important personalities.
