ASHENEWS reports that the Sokoto State Police Command has received boost in personnel, Armour carrier, and operational vehicles, preparatory to the governorship and House of Assembly elections, scheduled to hold on March 18, 2023.
This online platform re all that the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, inaugurated the operational police vehicles in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammed Usaini Gumel, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with ASHENEWS on Tuesday.

According to him, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali made the provision of the operational vehicles for all the states commands through the Ministry of Police Affairs.
“Sokoto State Command has a boost of 130 mobile police men and special forces. We were also boosted with Armour personnel carrier, and four operational vehicles and gun truck,” Gumel told ASHENEWS.
Warning troublemakers to stay away from causing problems during the March 18 polls, the CP said the Police, and other security agencies in the state would do everything within their operational guidelines, to keep hoodlums away from voting areas.
“We are advising troublemakers and their sponsors to embrace peaceful ways during and after the Governorship and State Assembly elections in Sokoto. Failure to adhere strictly with electoral guidelines will be resisted within our operational mandate.
“Sokoto is known to be peaceful and we are here to ensure it remains so. We will not condone acts of violence in any guise,” he further said.
Gumel advised the people of the state to remain peaceful and conduct their affairs during the election peacefully.
