The Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, has conferred the traditional title of Soniyanko Nupe (Great Queen of Nupe Land) on the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu.
Abubakar, who is also the Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, presented the title during a courtesy visit to his palace in Bida on Saturday.
The Etsu Nupe said the honor was in recognition of the First Lady’s humanitarian support and assistance to victims of insecurity and natural disasters, particularly the Mokwa flooding in the state.

Abubakar described her husband, President Bola Tinubu, as a friend of the Nupe Kingdom and assured him of ongoing support and prayers for the success of policies and programs aimed at national development.
In her response, the First Lady thanked the Etsu Nupe for the honor and pledged continued support to the palace and the people of Niger State.
Tinubu stated that the conferment of the traditional title has motivated her to do more for the Nupe Kingdom and the state at large.
