The youth wing of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has appointed Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu as its Acting National Youth Leader.

The appointment is contained in a communiqué signed by Chika Adiele, the National Publicity Secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide, and made available to newsmen in Owerri, on Friday.

Adiele said that Ohanaeze youths unanimously endorsed the appointment of Okpalaezeukwu as the Acting National Youth Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide, pending the due process of electing a substantive National Youth Leader of Ebonyi extraction.

He said that the resolution was reached at a meeting convened by President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, on Wednesday, August 30, in Owerri, the Imo capital.

He added that the youths passed a vote of confidence, solidarity and support on Iwuanyanwu for the promising efforts so far and other convincing new agenda for visible and sustainable development and economic growth of the Igbo nation while pledging their absolute allegiance and fealty.

“Rising from a crucial meeting of the National Executive Committee of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide with our President-General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, we have unanimously endorsed the appointment of Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu as our Acting National Youth Leader,” he said.

Adiele further reaffirmed the group’s resolve and commitment to end “sit-at-home” in the South-East, and shall not rest on its oars until Peace and Security is restored in the geopolitical zone and Nigeria at large.

He condemned in strong terms, the activities of some mischief makers whom he said parade themselves and make unfounded and unruly statements in the name of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

“We admonish such peddlers of falsehood to desist forthwith as any attempt by any individual or interest group in this regard shall henceforth be appropriately sanctioned by Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

“We adopt total implementations of the declared vision and mission of the Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu led Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide on security, economic growth and development in Ala Igbo (Igbo land), Nigeria and Africa in general,” he said.
