The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says the impromptu scheduled between it and the Nigerian government, has been rescheduled to Tuesday.
The union made this known in its verified Twitter handle @ASUU_NGN on Monday.
“The impromptu meeting between @ASUU_NGN and FG that was earlier scheduled to hold this evening has been shifted to Tuesday 12th April.
“Both parties are expected to arrive at a solid agreement as they meet proper, tomorrow (Tuesday).
“The impromptu meeting between the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Federal Government has been rescheduled to tomorrow (Tuesday)” the tweet reads.
ASHENEWS recalls that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, earlier on Monday summoned a meeting with ASUU after 56 days of embarking on a strike action.
ASUU had on Monday, February 14, 2022, announced a four week comprehensive warning strike following failure for the parties to reach common ground on the demands of university lecturers.
Some of ASUU’s demands include the release of revitalization funds for universities, implementation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement, release of earned allowances for university lecturers, and deployment of the UTAS payment platform for payment of salaries and allowances of university lecturers.
